As the years go by, more and more artists, producers and industry execs throughout the southern Colorado region are making bigger moves, and making their presence known outside the boxstate. This year proved to be especially unique with several entities within the 719 music community branching out and traveling to Los Angeles, CA to get up close and personal with the spirit of this year’s 68th Grammy Awards celebrations, functions and award ceremony/performances.

Scorp Dezel, (see 719 Mag launch article) multi-billboard chart and platinum producer, and one of the legendary trailblazers from Colorado Springs, CO (and Oakland, CA), brought some heat to Grammy weekend in LA with his esteemed producer’s/writer’s camp CAMP LA - K-Pop Sessions on 1/29 and as usual did not disappoint with the priceless opportunities. Bringing in heavy hitters such as Lil Twist, Roscoe Dash, also with appearances from chart topping K-Pop producers from South Korea, to include celebrating Scorp's recent major production placement on the recent motion picture GOAT movie soundtrack (Cortis - "Mention Me"). Additionally within the Dezel Music's Grammy weekend entourage, celebrity Chef Zing (Zing’s BBQ, also from Colorado Springs, CO.) brought his award winning flavors to Camp LA as well as both making an exclusive appearance to an invite-only private party with heavy hit-making recording label/music group EMPIRE, getting an exclusive showcase from artists such as Shaboozey ("A Bar Song") and several more esteemed national artists!
This would be the 13th producer camp Scorp Dezel has presented and by far one of the most anticipated, resulting in another massive success. These private producers/writers camps are truly becoming a connection for those who want to take their music careers a bit more seriously, especially when it comes to artist development and valuable industry knowledge. Now becoming a legacy for both Scorp Dezel and Dezel Music, with many within the entire state of Colorado looking forward to its possible return!

Also in motion is our October 2024 cover story artist KO Kelly who made his regular excursion to this year’s Grammys, bringing some of his family and accompanied by some special guests with both AME & School of Rap, to include Terry Josiah Sharpe @_terryjosiah_, Merch @merchmadeit , $nook B @fca_snook, Steelo Swerve @steelo.swerve, and Cadence Pearl @cadencepearlofficial.
From the looks of things, KO Kelly & AME took full advantage of the opportunities presented at such a fruitful setting such as the Grammys.
Outside of appearances in Los Angeles, there was also a major win for Colorado last Sunday night when Kendrick Lamar was awarded 'Record of the Year' for GNX which featured Peysoh, a national artist from California managed by southern Colorado's own hometown hero, esteemed A&R and publisher Gary Leon (@garygleon) (also with heavy roots in Cali), resulting in a monumental moment in music history in Colorado! We at 719 Mag and within the southern Colorado music scene, look forward to so much more from Gary and his successful ventures, to include more major music headlines. Stay locked in this year for an announcement of a planned special recognition segment which will feature Gary Leon's accolades at the upcoming 719 Music Awards 2026!

See more about KO Kelly's camp appearances, and also Gary Leon's big win with some amazing coverage at MHM (@milehighminute.co)
New upcoming artist, representing his fresh conglomerate collective, trending "#New719" - PG Nuke @pg_nuke (from Colorado Springs, CO) also traveled and brought his fam as well, along with known celebrity barber Shy Collins, all exploring exclusive invites to several of the functions, to include some of Dezel Music's gatherings in LA, bringing it all together with more priceless opportunities happening this past Grammy weekend! PG Nuke also connected with 4 time Grammy-nominated & 5 time Billboard Award recipient, Misty Blanco @mysterious_mistyblanco & her family, shining on with even more of heavier presence all from the 719!
Elevation this year, would be an understatement for the southern Colorado music scene and also much of the state of Colorado!

Stay tuned for so much more from these music figures putting on for not just Colorado but also for the teams and people they all collectively represent!
Salute to the travelers making moves from the 719! ~
